General Content Ideas

If you would like to suggest a topic or idea for any part of the magazine, including feature articles, please send it to the Rensselaer magazine staff.

Submission Type
Photo Submission
  • Images should be a minimum of 300 dpi, high-resolution, original photos as JPEGs or TIFFs.  Note that increasing the resolution of a previously saved file will not increase the image quality.
  • We will not accept photos that have been altered in any way, including those altered with Instagram filters or in Photoshop.
  • By submitting your photo to us, you understand that we may use it in the printed version of the Rensselaer magazine, online, and/or on Rensselaer's social media pages.

One file only.
5 MB limit.
Allowed types: jpg, jpeg, tiff.
25 MB limit per form.
Photographer Credit
Photo Notes
Please identify everyone in the photo by name and class year, and include the date, place, and any other pertinent details about the photo.
Editorial Submission
  • Read the magazine to make sure we cover the topic you have in mind, and to see our story format.
  • All stories must have a Rensselaer connection.
  • We reserve the right to accept or reject a specific story based upon quality, appropriateness, and editorial needs.
  • Content for One Last Thing should be an essay of 700 to 750 words.
  • For feature articles, write a brief pitch telling us why the idea is different, newsworthy and interesting for our readers.  Submit your idea in a query letter no more than one page in length,  If you have published writing samples, please mention your most relevant writing credits and include two or three samples of yoru work.
